Lawnfawn - Cookies and milk stamps

This another one of my simple yet subtle season card. I have continued to use the embossing technique. I think it's such a good way to make a simple and quick card and at the same time, it gives off a very polished look.

Christmas Custom Project

I've had a request to do a custom christmas card this year for a friend and thought I might as well try out Adobe Illustrator and the learn the software as I go long. Adobe Illustrator can be very easily to use and at the same time it can be very tricky.

I have had looked at a few amazing tutorial on YouTube for some ideas and tips for beginners, so I was it quite easy to start off. Ideally I wanted to use the paint tool but for some reason it doesn't allow me to use a paint tool at all, so opted on the blob tool instead. This tool is surprisingly worked very well! My first piece and already I feel like I do make so much more!

DIY - Halloween Cake Toppers

Boo!

I don't normally celebrate Halloween Day, however I think it's great fun to bring all the ghouls and friends together partying and feasting the night away!

I thought I might do a couple of some paper craft for Halloween day for all the parent's out there on the budget!

Video will be up very soon, so for now enjoy the below pictures.

Thanks!

Tsujiri UK

Who doesn't like matcha?

I guess it's one of those food where you either love it or hate it, right? A few people have said it tasted like wet grass, taste funny, too powdery etc etc,  but for me it's completely heavenly lush! *Can't find any other words to describe this!*

I've recently discovered that Starbucks also introduced Matcha Latte onto their menu, another reason for me to start shifting from Pret a manger! Anyway, I've made another discovery that a Japanese cafe just recently came into town. The heart of London Soho - Tsujiri.

Their desserts was killing it on instagram for the past few months, I thought I might give it a go before I started to feel like I am being left behind of not trying the 'IT' dessert. For £4.95 you get a pot ( well worth it) filled with....I assumed could be rice cakes at the bottom, smothered in chocolate and topped with matcha ice cream and a mochi. Not sure what the other brown stuff is, though.

If you're not a matcha fan, there really is no point going here as every other items on their menu are matcha! And for you new matcha newbies out there, it's well worth a  try. My nephew who thought he hated green tea/ matcha items, said he wouldn't try it, so I asked him to try again and he absolutely love it. Definitely coming back here again.

I thoroughly enjoyed  making food illustrations, so you may see some more post like this. I hope you can taste some matcha ice cream by looking at these images. :D

Doodledollyx's photo got featured!

I usually like reading and flipping through the crafty magazines rather than searching online to look for inspirations. I know that there are millions of inspirations out there, especially with social media in this day in age, you have Youtube, Blog sphere world, Instagram at our expense, you're pretty much within arms reach away from learning a whole bunch of new stuff online.

I have purchased a number of craft magazines in the past from Paper craft, Cardmaking & Papercraft and Quick cards, however I usually find that these are purely for card making and nothing new. I was looking for something more. Something different and new. NEW IDEAS.

My adventure was over until I stumbled across doccrafts creativity magazine and I can honestly say it's completely packed full of god send inspirations ranging from card making, knitting, painting, art journals, gift ideas, home decor, soft craft and many more!

I loved their magazine so much that I ended up following their tutorials and have frequently been trying perfect it as much as I can by uploading some of my takes on instagram and their site. This is definitely one of my crafty bible and I highly recommend this to anyone who are short on ideas, you won't be disappointed and for £5.99 is money worth spent!

Natural History Museum - Draw It!

We went to the Natural History Museum last week Friday morning and we came across the Blue zone in the Images of Nature section and there is a section for you to draw what inspires you from the museum today. I've decided to draw a sea creature which I generally enjoyed drawing; an Octopus!

I went back in their today to see it was hanging on the wall, nothing makes me happy to see my sketches in the museum! I've encouraged my sister to do the same, so watch out for Thank Kim Phan for another Squido!

My midnight food painting

I am currently using the Hobbycraft palette paint set which I bought for £5. I usually use this palette for fun painting on my art journal, saving my expensive ones for more professional work. Not to say this paint is rubbish, it's NOT! It's more of using my less expensive paints to see what it does compared to the expensive ones I own.

What I really love about this palette is that it has every single colours and absolutely superb for beginner painter. I'm usually quite bad at mixing up primary colours to get the colours I want, so it's great that I have a selection of colours at my expense.

I know that if I had a 6 colour palette with limited colours, I would have found it really hard to pick and choose to make up the colours I want for my painting. However, with the Hobbbycraft palette which I've got for £5, it has about 36 colours, it's really good for those starting out with watercolors and it also dries really quickly too!

I have attached 2 examples of my favourite pieces I have worked on last night and I have to admit, I am quite pleased with the way it turned out. Bare in mind, I did not use this painting on a water colour paper, so you can imagine how light these watercolors are!

So good, that I ran back and got my self another backup palette! ^__^

Sunday Funday : DIY using Washi tapes

Washi tapes are probably one of those items that you can use on anything and everything. From card making to daily journalling, home organisation and even home decor!

One of my favourite ways of using washi tape is on greeting cards, gift wraps and using them to label my jars. I've even discovered that you can use it for home decorating, like what the hell!

What are Washi tapes?

Washi tape is a high quality masking tape made out of rice paper. They pretty much work like normal tapes, but they are much more beautiful to use when decorating your note pads, labelling your craft/kitchen items and even using it to gift wrap items.

Washi tape is such a big deal to everyone right now, you can find them in all sorts of designs, you can have them plain, which is what I usually prefer. You can tear it, stick it, reposition it, write on it... you can name the rest!

I've found some pretty amazing inspiration on ways to use the washi tape. (Please note, the pictures below are not mine and I've tried my best to name the owners on here too)

Howto - Welcoming baby card

It's the end of the bank holiday weekend here in London and the heat here has now calm down to its typical London weather. A couple of days ago, we have experienced a mini heat wave here and I have to admit I cannot take it!! Usually I am very fast at getting my tan on; but this time.... I'm in my room, doodling away with the fan blowing in my direction.

Anyhow, I've decided to stay productive by making more DIY projects; this time it's welcoming a baby into our world! What do you think of this? Aren't they cute?

Handmade products or gift for a baby is definitely and an all year round sort of thing, it is something worth getting for any proud parents out there to welcome their little ones into our world; whether it's hand knitted pair of socks, adding handmade paper craft adds a personal touch to the present making it extra special.

The above is generally what I would use to complete a craft project, however specifically for this project, I am using the following.....

Momento - Tuxedo Black

Clear Stamp block

Avery Elle Stamp set

Scissors

Foam double sided tape

Embellishments for the shaker

Pearl Wand in Peach.

Spectrum Noir Marker

Since one is born every minute, I thought it will be handy to make something and perhaps show you how I've made this. If you want to see how I've made this card, please watch my video.

Thank you!

Week 1 - Summing up my week

A girl can never have too many shoes, makeup and handbags, but most importantly she can never have too many crafts in a basket! I love collecting. I am a hoarder. My bed room has now turned into an underground bedroom/studio. I don't know what it is anymore, do I sleep in here or do I do work?
And with this addiction, I've managed to purchase some more goodness. It takes away my boredom and increase my productivity :)

I've found a home for my dear embellishments. They are going to love me for this.

I've spent most of my time at the park this week just to get away from the heat in the house! I am going to regret for saying this, but I absolutely cannot wait for the Autumn to start. I just can't deal with the heat here in London, constant migraines, my skin is terrible, suffering from heat rash, hay fever kicking in left right and center, you name it! On a flipside, there's nothing quite like sitting underneath a tree, with a juice in one hand and a magazine in the other while the wind blows in your direction, here's hoping ideas will magically appears!

Whale you be mine?

Hey!

I've decided to play around with my new stamps designed by Lawn Fawn. I love how fantastic these stamps are, so cute and for the price it's really worth it!

Although Valentine's day is nowhere near us this year, I thought it's fun to show you what I have cooked up this week using Lawn fawn's stamp set 'Whale you be mine?'.

It's definitely perfect for sending your love ones a card, birthday or perhaps to cheer someone up or prepare your Valentine's day card for next year! There's no harm on planning ahead right?

I hope you like! :)

Welcome little one

This week card is all about the welcoming the little ones to the world! I really had lots of fun making this; especially playing around with the colour combinations. You can make this specifically for a baby boy or baby girl, but here I am using this card for both genders.

If you want to know how I make this card, please watch the below video I've made previously in my last post.

The concept is the same thing, but this time I have used a much smaller card ( C6 size) and a different set of stamps from Avery Elle.

Tomorrow's post, I will be using Lawn Fawn's stamps ( excited!!) I've seen so many posts of what artists can make out of these stamps, lots of incredible new ideas, whether it be cardm gift tags, packaging, wrapping paper and post cards! You really can use these stamps on anything! Just make sure you clean them after every use) :)

Avery Elle Stamp Set - My own creation

Good day all! I hope all are well on this fine Sunday?

Photopolymer clear stamps are my new favourites right now! They are so easy to use, especially if you are new or existing users, they are especially great for card making project, hobonichi, bulletin journals and yes, you can do just about anything with them! You name it!

I have recently discovered the Avery Elle brand and the stamp set are super duper cute. My current favourite has to be the ST 15 - 23 swim team set. This set has over 30 pieces! I think, I tried to physically count them but lost count along the way! :D

I have gone banana crazy and ordered a few more batch, so I really can't wait to get my hands on them.

I have added a whale friend to my collections, this time its the new shaker card using Avery Elle's stamps!

Product used:

Avery Elle set
Memnto Tuxedo Black
Spectrum Noir Markers in IB2, FS8 & BT3 (Reviews on these later)

Please stay tuned for more upcoming photos, videos and tutorials over the next few weeks! I really hope you will enjoy.
